Fallout 4's Shouty Man.

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 11:22 pm

Since Bethesda added voiced dialogue in their games, they have all had a shouty man who stands in the street yelling at us. Oblivion had the Prophet in Anvil, Fallout 3 had Confessor Cromwell at the nuke in Megaton, New Vegas had the Mick and Ralph's Crier, and Skyrim had Heimskr preaching for Talos.

So, do we have any predictions on who will stand about shouting at us in Fallout 4? Personally I'm hoping for a Protectron who is an enthusiastic Baptist preacher.

I'm hoping for an end-of-days conspiracy theorist. Maybe with a tinfoil hat we can loot off of them.

This time it will be me. I will be yelling Deathclaws are everywhere , run away, run away.

During quiet times I will shout "Water, Water, everywhere, and not a drop to drink. Can you spare some water, please."

This time it'll be shouty lady and she'll have a ludicrously thick Boston accent so regardless of how you felt before you played the game you'll hate it afterwards.

Agree, My character is the biggest shouty man/woman in every game. Now that my character has a voice, hopefully he'll shout what I"m thinking.

And this I didn't know how bad I wanted until I read it. TAKE MY MONEY

EDIT:

Nah, ghouls are people but synthetic humans are just an abomination. Kill it with fire and all that.

Put me down for the shouty fire and brimstone Protectron. That would be marvelous.

Just imagine it doing the whole charismatic televangelist schtick, but with that slow staccato robot voice.

Consider the large likelihood that the main story will (ultimately) be about the conflict between androids seeking freedom and rights vs those who want to still use them as tools (aka the classic sci-fi twist on the slave vs slaver conflict) I'm thinking some form of shouter on that subject.

I hope there'll be a Sarkeesian standing in the streets spewing feminism quotes.

In a nod of respect to Iain M Banks, a faulty android who loudly declaims that the whole world is merely a training simulation. A game. And pesters the passers-by for a good, rousing fight.

If you destroy it, its last words are "Damn. I was enjoying that!"

[edit]

It would also be a call-back to the Old Orc in Skyrim.
