What I want to do is to make Fallout feel more like a wasteland and more realistic, my way to achieve this would be by the following,
Loot:
90% reducing in pre-world items and make it harder to find and obtain them, most loot should be resources not pre made items, like old food or working weapons or armor, this should be easily done by changing loot tables and cell’s, most items should be looted already or be destroyed by time and weather.
Armor:
First I love “Raider” armor type, has that real wasteland feeling to it, made from scrap, of course armor made by a armor smite with 100% in armor making (probably won’t be called that) and good resources would look a lot more like real combat armor, another thing I would like is interchangeable armor inserts, like leather and metal plates or maybe pockets for stuff.
Weapons:
Most weapons doesn’t have that makeshift feel to it, most looks like it just came from the 90’s instead of lying about for ages or destroyed, what I want is a lot more makeshift weapons, now like with armors, newly made weapons made by experts would look better and so on.
Skills:
I wanted to redesign all the skills, changing names and functions, but it would break any other mod out there that uses skills, I might do it anyway, but that would be in a later stage of the mod.
Example;
Skills would go from 1 to 120 (would be an % of how good you are with that skill) like rifle skill, lets say you have 40 in that skill and the weapon has base dmg of 30, now everyone should have a min. base dmg of 20% + skill%, in this case it should be 18dmg with a working weapon, now if you have more than 100% you will get a bonus to dmg or something else.
Another example would be crafting, let’s take armor, normal DT would be 12DT but with 120% in armor making, could be 14DT or better durability.
Another thing I want to do is to make skill checks more fluid instead of the normal 25-50-75 checks.
Pretty much else in the game should be balanced to reflect those changers, like combat and vendors and so on.
More idea’s and comments are welcome.
