I am not able to access the "hardware" mode option for the Pip Boy App for my Samsung Galaxy S3. The option isn't given upon opening the app, and there is no display option under the settings menu. I have updated the phone and reinstalled the app. I need to be able to resize the screen to get it to work with the Pip Boy Edition.

I do not want to mess with rooting my device to get this to work. and since this model is specifically mentioned in the user manual as compatible, I don't understand what the issue would be.

Any help would be much appreciated.
