Where Can I Find Fall Out 1 And Or 2 In Stores?

Post » Thu Jun 03, 2010 12:49 pm

I am curious where I can find Fall Out 1 and or 2 in stores. Usually Walmart carries games that are $10 and cheaper, usually with out a manual, only a quick reference guide. However, I have not seen them there. Also I have not been to Best Buy or a similar store recently, does any one know if any stores carry them? They could be separate or bundled. Hopefully not too much money either. I know it has been said here on the main web site you can download it for cheap, but I prefer hard copies my self. Some one said I can buy it cheap from GOG.com... but are they legal copies? Are the people who originally made it or who owns the rights now still getting their cut, or is the website not giving any thing back unless they have the right by the people who made the game or hold the rights to do so? If I wanted a pirated copy I would just download it, but that isn't my style, that and the fact that they do not always play well anyway regardless of who says what, and if GOG do sell them illegally for cheap, I certainly wouldn't want to pay for a pirated copy. (That and the fact I would assume that site would be illegal to mention on the forums anyway...)

Regardless, I just want to find a brand new copy of 1 and or 2 for cheap that are legit. And I would prefer to do it where I can go into the store and buy it and not have to have it mailed to me or use my credit card to pay over the internet. Does any one know where these could be? I would also need it on CD format because my old comp does not have a DVD player. Thank you for your time and patience.

PS. Some one said you can download from the main site of Fall Out... but I have not seen it, all I see is Fall Out 3 downloadable content... is there an official link some where?

Various stores, like http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9314538&type=product&id=1218083032724, do carry the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Trilogy pack (FO1+FO2+FOT) on one DVD for $20. Just look around.

Unfortunately, no brand new copies on CDs are sold any longer. You can either buy a used copy on a CD, buy a new one on DVD or buy a digital download.

GOG is perfectly legal and Interplay does get its cut from the deal. It's run by CD Projekt, a major Polish game publisher and the developer of The Witcher.

If one wants to buy a digital download, GOG.com is cheaper - it sells FO1, FO2 and FOT for $5.99 each.

He probably meant the Interplay website, not Bethesda's Fallout 3 website. The link there is the one given by the poster above (to Metaboli), but GOG is still a bit cheaper.

Walmart, Target, Best Buy all have the new trilogy pack.

GOG.com has the originals as a download.

Ebay has the original games on cd.

Well thank you all for the quick replies at such a late hour... (At least where I am from anyway.) If all else fails I will probably just buy a hard copy even if it is DVD and put it on my wife's laptop... my old comp just went down anyway, not even sure if I can salvage it since all it does is reboots it self over and over again and a blue screen saying a few lines of stuff quickly flashes and then goes away...

Anyway the lap top I can practically take anywhere. Thanks again.

I would support GOG if you can... the downloads are small, and that site deserves the support, as it has many awesome releases now and will have more in the future.

By today's standards, they are minuscule in size. Not in terms of game play, but in data.
