Weapon Holster

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 8:00 pm

It's a small issue, but it's driving me mad. Is anybody else missing being able to switch to third person and see your favorite weapon holstered on your back or to your side?

I'm really hoping a weapon holster mod is released soon.

This is a feature that has been in all Bethesda games since I can remember, (Morrowind) why take it out now? Its immersion breaking for a third person player. I really hope this is addressed because its so small and simple (it seems) and to glaringly obvious to just leave out.

I think it's a bug

Look at the image used on the back of the game case

Not a bug. It's because of the layered armor.

I'm a tad disappointed by this. But at least if you have a weapon equipped it goes into an idle position in 3rd person after a short time. Better than nothing I guess.

I don't get it, why did they axe it because of layered armor? Is it because of clipping?

A lot of the layered armor and pieces are clipping a lot with each other anyway (especially non-vault jumpsuits and chest pieces) so I don't understand why of all things it had to be holsters that went to the chopping block.

It's pretty shameful for a modern AAA game. Even worse that their false advertising shows holstered weapons.

Maybe it has something to do with weapon mods?

I believe they jumped the gun & decided to release the game a year (two?) early.

-so much stuff missing.

See, the thing is, I'm led to believe that the weapon MODS would give more of a reason to display your weapon proudly on your back/ hip.

We feverishly scrounge the wastes for little bits of scraps to tweak the performance and LOOKS of our weapons. It's a shame we can't actually see the final product of our hard work strapped to our back looking all bad@$$.

To me at least, it's a real disincentive not to have this as a feature after putting all the developer hard work into crafting and what not....it's like Bethesda went 3 steps ahead and 4 back.

This is my biggest complaint!! I can get passed the minor bugs I've experienced but for some reason this really bugs me.

I'm assuming it was cut due to issues with layered armor. I would also bet that Bethesda isn't happy about having to do that, but sometimes things happen and good stuff has to get cut. That said, I'd love to see it make a return in an update because it was awesome and it does svck that it's gone.

Yikes, this has actually been downgraded since Fallout 3? I thought that one weapon at a time was kinda bad enough and hoped this might've been improved. That doesn't bode well :(

This is utterly upsetting, and an insult. Fix it. There are no reasons, why modded gear of any sort or armor could force a no holster. You guys create the aesthetics, you create the barriers and perimeters that we the player must live by. This is just laziness on your part. I love Fallout 4 though, which makes this insult that much worse. Fix it.

I don't understand this, I mean I will play this game for hundards of hours, after the first couple of hours I would not even notice even if this feature was added.

It is like I have firends who say they won't play because the graphics are dated. I just have to laugh becuase after a few hours I hardly notice good/bad graphics in most games, For me it the story and RPG aspect of a game like this that matters.

I am not trying to bash you, small things can bug me to but I bet after you have played for a couple of weeks you won't even notice.

IMO - This would fall into "the least important things missing from F4" category. I get that someone of you really like this feature but it doesn't matter to me.

No worries, not taking it as a bashing. You're correct in that I tend not to notice it after a while but I do get reminded of it in certain situations. I still love the game and it won't stop me from logging many hours into it. It's just something I find rather silly and makes me shake my head.
