do you just clear every single building at the beginning?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 9:50 pm

and take all the junk with you? °_°

feels a bit immersion breaking, that I have to do this :/

is there any other way? :D

just imagine someone going into every single house and carying all the lamps, bottles, all the paper out and bringing it to his settlement

so unrealistic :(

For me, almost the whole appeal of the Elder Scrolls/Fallout franchises is the opportunity to explore a new world. I'm much less concerned about perks, skill points, textures, etc.

So yeah, I take the time to investigate every single standing structure I come across and usually take everything I can.

Of course, it's nowhere near realistic. I'm wearing nothing but a skin-tight jumpsuit, but supposedly I'm carrying around 4 fire extinguishers, 18 electric fans, and a globe. If this was a survival simulation, I'd balk at it, but it's an FPS/RPG, so I didn't come in with the expectation of the game adhering too strictly to reality.

It's a game, it's supposed to be a more enjoyable version of reality, imagine if we had to bring item by item to storage, it would be boring as f. uck

Ditto. I came to action games as an adventure gamer looking for more robust worlds and games. I love exploring and soaking in the vibe and everything that goes with it. Like any other piece of fiction, you need to suspend disbelief.

I investigate, but I figure the junk isn't going anywhere. I'll come back if I need to.

I'm finding or found in the beginning way to much in the way of chems as if done on purpose.

Same with certain types of ammo, seemed way to abundant.

Scavenging has always been part of Fallout.

Besides:

How else you going to get Caps in the early game? I grab anything that has a value so I can sell it for caps. I am also not sure yet as to what is useful for crafting so until I know otherwise, I grab all the junk too.

Later on as cap supplies increase and you have a handle on scavenging what is important, then you will be grabbing less stuff.

I wish I could carry more and take couches and chairs...that's good cloth for crafting right there. :P

There is so much stuff all over the place, when I need something I keep an eye out for it. It doesn't take long to find what I need.

I do feel the urge to grab everything, but with strenght at 1 that is not happening. I do let my dog carry some junk, but constant transfering of items gets tiresome.

Just out of curiosity, where did you get the idea that you MUST clear every building and haul off all the junk?

If you don't want to do that, the solution is to NOT do it.
