Power Armor, Fatmans, and OP OH MY! Why Bethesda!?

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 4:20 am

I love the game! I am playing on survival difficulty. I am having a tad of an issue and wanted to share it and see if anyone is in the same boat.

I'm 16 hours in (mostly 25% of the left upper part of the map so far).

I have found:
6 suits of power armor/8 cores
3 Fatmans with 9 mini nukes (2 were unguarded)

I am all for giving me powerfull gear but 3 Fatmans? In 3 and NV they were rare and a treasure; so far they are giving them to me like candy.

Anyone else finding this or just me ?

*btw I did find my first giant super mutant behemoth... He one shot me* this is the only thing I haven't been able to kill so far (I shot 5 mini nukes at him.. He didn't care and destroyed me)

Gaming 101: If the game seems generous with loot, that's probably because you'll need ALL of it at some point.

I kill everything else with ease... Even legendaries. The behemoth had the red skull marker so I assume he is double my level or more :)

I agree but the fat man was easily obtainable in the early stages of Fallout 3 too when you fought the behemoth.

The Power Armor and DC fight happened way too early and threw off the story pacing significantly

I'm playing on survival mode (hardest difficulty). Yeah I never use power armor. I was just surprised how much there was so early.

I have like 3 sets of PA with awesome upgrades and 24+ cores in my Inventory lol. It really helps for melee in Survival mode :D

I thought it would svck, but I'm loving the PA system.

why what? i remember getting a set of PA the same moment i get the fat-man. Isnt that different the moment u get the PA on Fallout 4 and 3 the difference is that the PA on 4 is alot stronger.

I have two PAs sitting empty at the Red Rocket. I am a sneaky bastard and sneaking in power armor just ... isn't my thing. *Thud thud thud thud* "What was that?" *Thud thud thud thud* "Ah it was nothing, I must be hearing things." *Thud thud thud thud* Makes about as much sense as a Tauren hiding in a tree.

Difference is, in Fallout 3 you required training to use Power Armor, which was only available from the BoS after you reach a certain point in the main quest line, or if you did the Operation Anchorage DLC.

In Fallout 4, you start off innately knowing how to use Power Armor. Even the female protagonist whom was never in the military, and was basically just a lawyer-turned-housewife, starts Fallout 4 knowing how to operate Power Armor. It's against the established lore.

I felt the same way as soon as i got PA in the first two hours.

I assume that must mean there is far better versions or better gear as a whole.
