I'm really enjoying Fallout 4. I want to add that before I make my complaint. I have Cerebral Palsy and I love Fallout 3 and 4 for their slowing or freezing time (in the case of Fallout 3). The slowing time in Fallout 4 is preferable because it keeps the tension going yet doesn't make it a "twitchy" first person shooter.
My main concern for Fallout 4 is that I can't keymap for VATS. I also cannot keymap for workshop mode the way I want. I would like to see the settings controls separated into VATS keymaps, workshop keymaps and general keymaps. This would allow the user to utilize the same keys for multiple actions in different modes. If this is too difficult (and I'm not trying to be rude) because maybe some of your core components have been coded that way, it would still be preferable for me to be able to change those keys to whatever I want. Maybe not the same keys in different modes, but the user should be able to assign different keys for each mode. The most telling of this, and I have to believe that you will be fixing this in the next patch, is when I changed my "activate" key to "space", it still uses "e" (the originally designated key) to pick up items off of killed enemies. That, I assume, has to have already been brought to your attention, as it is most glaring. It isn't interfering with gameplay however, as I personally tend to loot only after killing everything in sight.
I would appreciate any fixes or changes to these. I don't want to wait for a mod to do it as I don't believe that these are mod issues.
The reason I bring this up is because I think the game is great, but I don't think I should have to battle the controls to play. We gave up that mechanic with Nintendo.
Otherwise, keep up the good work!
