Sudden problem with power in my Sanctuary settlement

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 4:04 am

I'm having this problem where all of a sudden my power rating is red and I cannot get it back to green (or whatever color you have your hi set to, which indicates it's in good standing).

The power is working fine, I have it run through the entire settlement, powering everything from traps and turrets, to ceiling fans and lights inside of various homes I built.

No matter how many generators I add onto the network, it remains red. Each power pylon when I hover over it while in Workshop mode has the little power icon (lightning bolt) in red color as well. Maybe it's a bug? If the power indicator on the power poles is red, doesn't that mean that it thinks there is no power?
I've built 50 large generators to be sure it's not a lack of power that is causing this. However, even then, it is still red. I am at a loss.
Hopefully it is something silly that I am overlooking..

Did you connect the generators with whatever they power with the power cables. You get an option to do that when you highlight objects that need power in build mode.

Idk maybe a bug? If you have everything wired it should work. And especially if everything is still powered. Is it having an effect on you settlements happiness?

I think I've encountered a bug with my lighting, maybe you can let me know if I'm doing everything right since yours seems to be working.

I set up a generator outside a building and attach it to an outside wall of my building. I then place a wall light on the inside of the building in close proximity to the connection and it usually turns on. Now if I move the light to a different unpowered area it turns off, then when I move it back to a powered area it never turns on. Even if there is available power and other lights working still from the generator.

I'm thinking bug. I play on console so I'm hoping, if these are bugs, they are fixed in patches. The settlement seems to have so much potential and I haven't even been attacked yet.

This happens when something that requires power isn't getting it, not just when you have insufficient power.

Construction light/turret unconnected, jukebox too far from a power relay, etc.
