I have a wireless gamepad/dual shock playstation style controller that isn't detcted in FO4. The controller works fine in other games and is fully recognized by Windows as well as Steam. Emailed Bethesda but got a generic response back that was in no way related to my problem.

BTW, I have the controller setting set to "on" in FO4.

Try using x360ce to remap inputs to xinput so that Fallout 4 can use it like a xbox360 controller.
