Hi! I have had fallout 4 since it was released, and played about 40 hours so far, loving the game play... BUT, there is a huge issue i am having with the game all of a sudden. I have scoured forums for 4 hours now, tried to contact customer support to no avail, and this is my last attempt at resolving before I'm going to have to return the game.

The issue I am having is with clicking continue, then loading the game, it will instantly shut down to the desktop, and i have tried numerous fixes that aren't working. I had a similar issue last week after playing fine for 3 days or so, i logged into steam once, and just couldn't continue where i left off, the game would just load (I even left it for 4 hours to try and play). After this, I took a break from FO4, and returned yesterday, where I re-played the game, and all was running well, when today, i had the issue again, I just cant continue the game.

The game runs fine windowed, full screen, all setting configurations etc... I have validated the game, downloaded the beta, changed DirectX settings, re-downloaded the game, and nothing is working, somebody, please help me!!

Side note: I am not running any mods, everything is 'vanilla'.

Sounds like a corrupt save. Turn off save syncing with steam and then remove the most recent saves from your folder, see if that allows you to load the remaining ones.

This is an issue that is pretty common lately(Also happened to me).

It's annoying that the devs have not said anything about it.

UPDATE: Thanks for the quick replies! Reloaded the game and it just wiped all of my data, so got to start fresh for the 3rd time, Ill have to enjoy getting to level 54 again to have to restart tomorrow anyways i guess. Shame Bethesda don't do anything in terms of customer support
