Seriously I've put 144 hours into the game before this patch screwed it all up, and would like to at least finish. Any clues?

It'a a beta patch. You backed up your saves like they recommend?

Try optiong out of the beta.
I did not have the patch then evidently. I just now installed the beta patch, and it crashes even faster now.
I can find out I suppose. Not a fan of losing 140 hours of progress.
Not saying you have to. Just curious. Does this happen on all your saves? Trying to determine if this is a save issue.
I wouldn't know how far back to load. I'm just gonna start over I guess. Not very happy about this. *looking at you Bethesda*
Just try rather than start over. Pick something not too far back. Dont rely on quick and autosave alone. ALways make new manual saves.
It still feels like a huge middle finger from Bethesda. I know I'm far from the only one with issues. Just once I'd love to play a game without something like this happening. I tried a few saves from a while back and it's just not playing nice. I mean, probably the moment I get to a decent spot in the game again it will just re-glitch so why bother. I'm sorry, I'm just really annoyed right now.
It's kind of random, but it averages about 10-15 minutes or less until it crashes. It's of note that I am currently at the castle. I'm willing to bet it's to do with the settlement.
Deleted a bunch of pieces from my base at The Castle and the problem seems to be solved for now. This is absolutely silly.
Turns out nothing was fixed and I'm still crashing. This is garbage.
