Soviet Union had lethal female snipers in WW2, like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyudmila_Pavlichenko.
Though she had nothing on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simo_H%C3%A4yh%C3%A4
Yeah, it's strongly implied that BOTH of them were in the military: she was a lawyer who was drafted, and he was career. It would explain why she takes to using weapons and power armour so quickly after the intro - if she was in the military, she'd have been trained in both already.
As for Raider power armour... if it's any consolation, it IS the crappiest form of power armour, and given how easily the main character got their hands on a frame, is it a big stretch for there to be raiders and such running around with it too? As long as it isn't every third raider, though... that's stretching it.
Well that's kind of true. I have a law degree but I can still use firearms. Not got any power armour training though.
It would have made more sense to give them both the same background. Operation Anchorage kind of established women soldiers anyway, and even in our own world 70 years ago there were tons of women in support roles in the military.
It states she has a law degree but who knows, she could have been living a Dexter type lifestyle and been secretly murdering criminals while her husband was at work. My character was probably a cat burglar in her previous life. At the very least she was a heavy shoplifter. Having a law degree or having spent time in the military (draft) does not define your personality.. Those are just jobs.
Forget power armour training. It was part of Fallout 3 and NV for sake of playing balance. Non other Fallout game required it and no other person in any Fallout game except player needed training. Every unwashed wastelander in both Fallout 3 and NV could use power armour without any training nonsense.
Fallout is a game. What's valid for one Fallout game does not have to be valid for another.
They definitely did away with that concept because even your random followers can use power armor. I don't think Piper has any military training either.
All I know is that I had to change her face even though I have no intention of using her. That is one fugly wife. No wonder my first Shaun baby looked like a mutated hamster.
My backstory is that I'm CIA recruited in law school, and did service behind the lines in Canada. Was laying low and rebuilding a (domestic) cover when the bombs fell.
Accounts for general military skill, sneak/sniping, crafting and using improvised weapons, lock picking and hacking.
Might also explain why I'm not "that" interested in finding "my" kid....
