No weapon holster

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 8:23 am

In other Fallout games when you put your gun away it would appear on your back or at your waist but in Fallout 4 when you put your weapon away it disappears which is a problem because it takes away how badass your character looked when you have it holstered running through the the wasteland. Bethesda should fix this because I'm probably not the only one who is pissed off at this.

It's a little bit of an aesthetic disappointment but with everything else in the game I get over it quite quickly...

Agree this game is the best game I've played. EVER. But it is disappointing to not have a holster. I also would like them to have an iron sight animation. Right now hip aim and zoom is the same animation

Yeah I thought this was kind of weird... like... is it a bug or a game feature? I'm using the term feature loosely here.

I was really surprised and confused when I holstered my sniper rifle and instead of it appearing on my back and making my character look slightly more intimidating and badass... there was nothing there. I don't know I guess I didn't realize what I had until it was gone. I'm used to not seeing my weapon while it's holstered after 35+ hours of game but... still... it's pretty odd.

yeah i hate this, kills immersion, i wonder if its a sacrifice because of layered armor ? if so then id rather have holsters ffs

Definitely wishing I could see my sick modded weapons in my side or back while strolling through the Commonwealth. Pretty ticked they removed it. Just. Why?

Maybe that was the reason... so many combinations of weapons that all need animating...

Definitely bummed that this is missing as well... assumed it has to do with "clipping" due to all the different armor modification?

I play mostly in first person, but I like to take screenshots every once in a while.

Yep, it was a disappointment HOWEVER I quickly got over it.

I strongly agree with this! (Actually made this account to request a change here)

It's not game breaking, but not seeing my gun holstered in 3rd person is definitely immersion-braking. My gun is part of my character, I want to see it.

Please Bethesda, add this feature if you can ! :)

I thought games were supposed to become more technologically advanced, not less. This reverts back to 2002 Morrowind, when weapons did not show on our characters.

A gun on the back is as good as being unarmed in my opinion.

im probably one of the few people who think....i couldnt give a damn if it appears on your back or not, character looks badass because he has a gun in a holster? you are far too easily impressed

This is literally the first thing I noticed after I got a weapon. I was pretty upset for a little bit but then I got over it. I would be thoroughly pleased if they come out with some sort of patch though that allows this to happen.

Hopefully it will be a mod that makes its way to consoles as well as pc. Breaks immersion badly for me but i'll live with it for now.

loving the game so far but honestly making your weapons disappear into a pocket dimension when they're holstered definitely feels like a step back from fallout 3 and decreases overall immersion

Got to agree the removal of your weapon hanging by your Hip or on your Back does look wrong, a few possible reasons mention already, clipping is not an issue Beth seems to overly worry about? (unless it is really, really bad)

TBH I cannot see any reasonable reason other than it was easier to do it that way? All Mod weapons I've seen in FO3, NV and Skyrim do not cause any major issues with clipping, the only real odd one is wearing a pack and a weapon on your back but even with them muddled in together no one calls that a game breaker? Would be very interested as to why Beth did decide to do it this way?

Of all the things they removed, this bugs me the most. It was a nice feature that they should have left the hell alone.

Could be because of the huge size on the pistols? I have a laser pistol that looks as long as my arm. Granted, I put a sniper barrel on there, so I'm partly at fault ;)
