i have just unclocked the ability to build stores in my settlements but nobody will be assigned to the store when i command them to do so. the stores are highlighted green and i can click assign but they just wont do it.

am i missing something or is it a bug? or are my settlers just A##holes? i checked the help section in game but does'nt say anything special needs to be done. help please

They eventually go there, had it happen to me too.

Watch the time of day, they seem to operate 'store hours'...

And no, your settlement population don't rush anywhere do they?

(except Brahmin, those animal can shift...)

Yeah I am having issues with this also.

I found one of the settlers supposed to run my gun shop, in my garden and I could still buy from him.

So your settler may be assigned but running around somewhere else.

Mine is doing the same thing as bebula. I have four stores. The gun shop settler always chills in the garden instead of at the shop. All my other shops are settled with settlers. Except my armor shop. I cant find any settler I assign to it. He just is on a permanent break :\

I am having the same issues regarding the assigning of settlers to stores. Very frustrating when they don't tend the store as they are supposed to. 5 settlers standing in my garden...Supposed to be tending stores.

Can't assign followers to settlement jobs - Codswarth won't do a thing, yet he is a " Mr. Handy" robot...

These issues seem miniscule, but are a tad frustrating and should be addressed.

I'm afraid I will be worn out through extensive game play, before these tiny issues are fixed and then it won't matter because I will be playing something else.
