I get "Fallout 4 has stopped working" every time I l : Fallout 4

Every time I open the launcher and click "play," the game fails to launch and I receive the message "Fallout 4 has stopped working." Thus, I am not able to actually play the game. I beleive that my drivers and hardware are up to the specifications required to play the game, but it's simply not working, so I'm not sure. My specs are as below:

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Processor: AMD Athlon™ X4 860K Quad Core Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.7GHz

Memory: 16 GB RAM

Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750

I beleive I have enough harddrive space as well.

Any help would be appreciated, because as is, I'm not able to enjoy the game at all. Thank you for reading.

There are many threads on here already with the same problem, some with fixes. Did you read any and try anything? And if you say you've tried "everything" I'll punch someone's cat, literally*.

Please run dxdiag.exe and post the full report in spoiler tags. That will give us more information on your system specs.

What video card drivers are you using for the GTX-750. The latest driver was released on November 19th.

I've read some of them and tried a few things like reinstalling the game, updating my video drivers, running on low video settings and in borderless windowed mode, bypassing the launcher by just executing the app, I tried running it in the patch beta but that didn't help, I had steam verify the game cache and everything seemed to check out, tried running it as administrator, and a few other things. I've been checking threads when I can since launch and tried a couple other suggestions that I can't recall right now, but the things I've tried haven't worked so far and I'm having difficulty trying to pick out what might help me. Sorry if I come off as a bit inept, but I haven't had much experience trying to run Bethesda games on PC.

Try a clean install of the video card drivers. The fault is with the video card drivers.

I uninstalled my old video card driver and installed the most recent driver that came out on the 19th like you had mentioned before. After getting that done, I tried to launch the game again and am continuing to get exactly the same problem. If I am not following your instructions correctly, please let me know.

I am interested in finding out the solution to this as well. The Steam forums have yielded nothing on the issue but toxic comments along the lines of STOP TRYING TO RUN THE GAME ON A POTATO AND GET A CONSOLE YOU PLEB HUEHUEHUE. I will search on, but best of luck.

first two simplest trouble shooting tips if game hangs at launcher would be to try running steam in 'offline' mode, a lot of times when it hangs up here its because it's failing to communicate with steam properly or steam is waiting to be updated

next i would try the bordered windowless mode when a lot of people are having to do cuz of graphics card issues (including myself)

it these don't work at least you know its not one of these issues, hope it helps

I have now tried launching the game with steam in "offline" mode. That did not work and the game is still having the same issue.

I have tried running the game in bordered windowless mode again, both whilst running steam in online and offline. I am experiencing the same issue.

I am now fairly sure that it is not either of these things.

i did a google search of "nvwgf2umx.dll error code c000001d" and it seems this has been an issue for quite a few people on many different games, you may find what you're looking for in these threads

after i looked through some of them i found this post which seemed the most detailed but i don't claim this is a fix:

Found the solution. Download the Nviidia Driver launched on 31st may 2015 v 352.86 (don't download later ones it creates problem with nvwgf2umx.dll and Direct X 10)

1. Unplug the Nviida card start up with your default GPU from motherboard.

2. Unistall all the Nvidia Latest updated driver via Control panel.

3. Use CCleaner to clean registry

4.Restart the computer via Nvidia card display (Don't connect internet keep it offline)

5.. Install Nvidia driver version v 352.86

6. While installing this driver if you don't see the message Dwm.exe (desktop window manager) crash message that means you are on right track.

7. after full installation and restarting your PC log in to Origin (IGOProxy64.exe error has gone) and join the game. If game starts without any errors your problem is resolved.

So even if you face the problem I suggest update C++ 2012 to version 4 aswell as download C++ 2015. Remember dont update the driver it will surely starting to crash.
