Nick Valentine

Does anyone else think he's the best character in the game?

I certainly do.

I especially love how nuanced the conversations he has on the endings are. In my Institute ending, no surprise he was horrified by the fact they won, but I actually got to point out the fact the Brotherhood of Steel would have been worse. Even then, Nick's reaction is exactly the one *I* had to the Institute/Railroad's plan.

"Was it necessary to kill ALL of them?"

That was unexpected and well done.

It seems even Nick is aware the game is fond of overkill.

He's next on my companion tour after Curie. I like Nick. He's got a good head.

Nick's a great character, but he's also neither omnipotent nor completely objective. He https://41.media.tumblr.com/4bce428aeccb79012a480068480a9564/tumblr_ny3u2cEbyo1u939ubo5_1280.jpg before the BoS even get to explain their intentions. How does he know..?

Nick is the Mysterious Stranger! He knows!

Anyone know what his opinion is if you side with the BoS?

Yeah, Nick does not like the BOS. They want to destroy all synths. I had Nick with me initially when I started my BOS quests and ended up sending him away and getting Preston because I kept getting "Nick hated that".

I predict Nick Valentine will be possessed by Kellog in one of the DLCs and you'll have round 2 with him.

hmm.. I dunno. There doesn't seem to be much substance there to work with. Besides, couldn't he just get a mind wipe to the point Kellog was installed? Actually, that could could be a cool dlc. There could possibly be many different ways of handling the problem. Try to get him repaired, complete mind-wipe, destroy him or just pal around him and his split personality calling him Crazy Nick.

I wonder if Nick approves of evacuating the Institute with the Minutemen.

Detective sense, my dear Wattson ;P

Onto the topic, I fully agree about him being a great character. He is interesting as a species, has a good design and damn he is a good character to hang around with. Shame he hates me now though XP

Nick is great. By the way, anyone recognize his voice? Think Thieves guild in Skyrim. :)

I also love his quest. Yes, it's long.. but fun and the ending is great.
