Elder Maxons BoS feels too much like the Enclave...

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 12:40 pm

What I know of the enclave is that they envision a U.S. like the pre-war U.S. They want to eliminate any shred of evidence of a deviation from that type of society. Sound familiar? That is essentially where Macon stands. I miss Elder Lyon's and the Capital Wasteland BoS chapter. They weren't as discriminatory. Which is why I believe the Enclave is no where to be seen. It's the splitting image of Elder Maxon and his ideals and goals. In future DLC I want to see references to the Enclave. But I don't see that happening.. a power struggle with the Lyon chapter is more likely.

What do you think? Am I the only one who hears John Henry Eden when I listen to the BoS Brass ranting about their prejudices aboard the Prydwen?

Maxson isn't doing anything different then Lyons

-Lyons still shot at ghouls, even non feral ones.

-Lyons waged a genocidal war against super mutants.

-Lyons would have likely tried to destroy all synths had he known about them due to the dangers they posed.

The Brotherhood of Steel are the Brotherhood of Steel. Only difference was Lyons was able to uproot and give birth to a new Chapter in the Wastes as the NCR had decimated the once powerful Brotherhood of Steel. With the Brotherhood reverting back to its old ways the only thing they still hold back from Lyons days was recruiting outsiders which is turning the Brotherhood of Steel into a powerhouse and a nation of it's own. I figured Lyons had lost once I saw the Brotherhood of Steel at the police station as they had Red Stripes over them.

The Brotherhood of Steel is and always has been a Military organization with a mandate. One day its going to come down to the Brotherhood of Steel Vs the NCR.

Yeah it svcks that you can't use your Charisma to Change the minds of Brotherhood and the Institute. I had hope at Paladin Danse Quest but sadly Maxson doesn't Change his mind.

That already happened.

Considering you become Director of the Institute, with the ending speech, you can change the Institute to whatever you want them to be.
They're not so bad anyway.

You can change his mind on Danse. Just not on Synths.

Why can't i Change the Brootherhood of Steel's mind about Synths? Danse was right. Synths can help humans and it were humans who put the world into atomic ashes.

Because that's why there are multiple factions.

If you changed the BoS's mind about synths, they'd be a power armored railroad.

Hm Quote doesn't work here for me. ^^ Multiple Factions are bad Roleplaying Design when you can't influence them. If you want to kill all factions except Brootherhood of Steel - Do it

Or

Keep all Factions together to make the Fallout World more peaceful

There have been a lot good arguments in the game to influcene the thoughts of the Factions.

I have to disagree

I don't want a super-goody sunshine and rainbows ending where all factions live happily ever after

What you want a morrowind style faction system, where joining a faction will either increase or decrease your rep with other factions that you've joined?

Some new guy who just joins the faction should not be able to change the modus operandi of the entire group, that's insane. How about you convince the Railroad that Synths are scum and they all just pack up and go home?

Would be ridiculous. Not everyone can get along.

Enclave created abominations. BOS is cleaning up the wasteland of those abominations.

Change your avatar, race traitor.

And what abominations? Synths and Super Mutants were made by the Institute. Super Mutants in D.C./Vault 87 were being made in-conjunction with the US Army in Mariposa and Ghouls are just the products of the war.

Incorrect, NCR vs The Brotherhood was only the Western branches of the Brotherhood of Steel. Lyons greatest gift to the BoS was allowing outsiders to join their ranks in mass. So well the Brotherhood of Steel still remains on the West Coast its most likely small listening posts. The Brotherhood of Steel on the East Coast is becoming a regional power or more a less a nation in itself

I'm not against the idea of influencing factions' directions, but this would be boring as hell.

How was I incorrect...?

Plus they have the whole Midwest BoS to go through, too. Plus I imagine the Brotherhood will be going to war with the Minutemen soon, considering I blew their boy-king out of the sky. (^:
