Squirrels and Cages

Could there please be a patch released that adds Squirrels to Fallout 4. It makes sense to have them running around since there are consumables made from squirrels, most notably: squirrel on a stick. Since there are clearly squirrels around why don't we see them?

Additionally adding a cage system to settlements would be nice. It could work in a way that traps squirrels randomly when placed.

This cage system could be expanded to include birds. Birds are clearly flying around, and can be shot, but why not eaten. I would totally eat the birds in a post-apocalyptic world, and they'd probably taste like chicken!

Other cage related ideas could be to place them in water, to catch floating junk (forks, bottles, armour?,...).

Also if there were to be large cages used you could use them to catch bigger junk objects (globes, tires, containers,...) also given the larger cage sizes they could potentially catch monsters that got into the traps. These could include: Bloatfly, Mole Rats, Mirelurks (small), Mongrel, and Radstags. With Radstags, domestication could be an option.

Going further with domestication could be getting Brahmin for ones settlement/farm, for milk (or meat).

I'm not a moder, and I'm just posting what additions makes sense with current in game items, that I hope you consider.

Keep up the great work.

The fact that you haven't seen any squirrels might raise the question where the squirrel meat comes from..
