I can't die...and it stinks!

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 10:19 pm

Not sure if this is a bug or some hidden perk, but every time I take damage that would have killed me, the game pauses for a second and then I am back to full health with all wounds healed. Also, if this happens while I am in stealth or slowed from being overburdened, those states get stuck until I completely quit to desktop. Am I missing something here, or is this just a bug?

That sounds like a bug.

Actually that's exactly how it seems to perform, although the pauses are much shorter than how long most essential NPC's take to get up. At first I thought it was awesome, but it really take a lot of the fun away. I don't have the discipline to "die" on my own and reload a save. I also didn't discover it until about 10 hours after it occurred. My last save that didn't have the bug was about 6 levels ago. Is there a bug report forum somewhere?

The quest with the dj seems to leave charakters broken. If you have a save before you did that quest try to load that. Dunno if other quests trigger this effect aswell :/

What... DJ? Are you talking about the quest where you save the guy at the top of the tower of Muties?

That didn't break me. Shortly after that quest I found a pair of Assaultrons that ripped me a new one and I died right proper.

Yep, it's a bug with the quest 'Confidence Man' in Diamond City where you are involved in a bar fight the game makes your character essential and the bug occurs when the game doesn't remove your essential tag after the quest, and thus you cannot die for the rest of the game. Hopefully a patch will fix it soon.

So.. they are still using the stupid deathclaw name, how unimaginenatively predictable.

"Let's go to Africa to see the Snouthorns, the Codiac Deathsnout of the Rockies, the great white Deathjaws of the Pacific, the Snapjaws of Australia, and finally, some Cambell's Cluckbeak noodle Soup."

Oh man, I can imagine myself with no armour getting in a fist fight with a deathclaw while all the girls chant my name as they see me still standing when the dust settles!

Yeah, that's the quest that did it, thanks for pointing that out. That quest is also busted for me as the two NPC's int eh brewery are tagged as essential. Unfortunately its really far back in my game.
