The Diamond City Radio DJ svcks

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 7:17 pm

The Diamond City Radio DJ you can tell is not a professional voice actor much less an actual radio DJ, this joker tries to act funny when he makes a comment that it comes acrosse as pretentious and stupid,,,,now I understand that we had it good with Three Dog from the Capital Wasteland....Bring back Three Dog...hahaha

I'm fairly confident the voice you're hearing is his character... in the sense that he's acting like a fool. I don't think that has any bearing on if it's "professional".

i agree

but how about those old school tracks? man, i blushed when i heard the song about the 60minute man - and thats coming from a buy that listened to Rock and Hiphop growing up.....our grandparents were listening to some raunchy crap!

i actually hate the songs for the most part, but they are all catchy. Even the really really really bad ones

"im as corny as Kansas in august....."

"grandmas playin the numbers...."

"Hes hacking and wacking and smacking....."

LOL seriously, what in the actual ****?!

Brendan Hunt, the voice actor of DJ Travis Miles, has http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0402360/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t14, including appearances in "How I Met Your Mother", "Parks and Rec", "Community" and "Horrible Bosses 2", among others. In light of this information, perhaps you'd like to revise the quoted statement?

no he is right - the DJ svcks in the game, espicially before you do his quest line......the issue isnt his acting skills though- its the games writing. Still doesnt change the fact that he is annoying and he svcks - not to mention repetitive (espicially for a game that people play for a long time lol)

Well obviously the DJ svcks. That's entirely purposeful, both from the writers and the actor. Just because you don't like the character, that doesn't mean it's okay to call the actor - who does a great job playing a very annoying character - unprofessional.

Go meet the guy in person in Diamond City. It'll all become pretty obvious why he sounds the way he does on the air. Talk about the most socially awkward DJ ever :P

Heh. I think he's sort of amusing - kind of the anti-Three Dog!

Sadly, I no longer live in SD (should update my profile!). I miss it though.

I just pretend DJ Qualls made his way into the wasteland, then it makes a lot more sense.

I like him, especially after doing his quest. Three Dog was great but definitely annoying, especially that howl of is (I actually removed my headphones whenever I knew it was coming).

FO4 still has the same issue with the repeating dialogue though. Almost every time the dj has something to say, it's the same old thank you to the main character for helping him. He should be making comments on side quests you've done and locations more often like Three Dog did. Instead it's either a repetited line or one for every couple quests you do in the main storyline.

No way. 3 dog was far and away the worst. I would be cool with them bringing him back for sentimental reasons but only if they have a few others to listen to 99% of the time

Do the DJ quest. He gets better. And keep in mind, he's just an actor. Someone else wrote the script.
