Favorite companion so far?

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 5:38 pm

I really like how Dog really acts like a dog. When I arrive at Red Rocket and want to clear his inventory, he runs off and plays and I have to chase after him. When I give him stuff to carry, he whines. Every so often he shreds a teddy bear.

It is obvious that the game's programmers have owned dogs. :-)

X6-88. That Blade appearance certainly helps him a lot. I can't stand Nick. Maybe I just like my standard sci-fi androids to be.... androids without all of that detective nonsense.

Hancock ftw. He's the only character that didn't annoy the bejeesus out of me. Plus he looks like a pirate :)

(I couldn't find X6. He showed up at my doorway once, but i never saw him again. Tall dark and mysterious, that one.)

Its a tie between Strong and Cait. Strong is the most useful but I love Cait's little quips.

Dogmeat. 'Cause he doesn't talk and doesn't give me attitude when I do things.

I like Nick, his dialogue is cool but dogmeat is the only choice since he can hold more, still allows you to use the loner perk and has all those other perks you can unlock. He beats every other nyc hands down.

Only problems with him are the damn bugs where he often disappears, fights anything that moves while your trying to sneak and falls off ledges left right and centre.

Tho am i seriously the only one who likes him?

He has a personality, but it's a bit toned down due to him being a professional assassin and what not. Sides, who cares about personality, he looks awesome.

You can use Loner & still keep Dogmeat! Cool! I didn't know that! Cool!

I like switching between them depending on what I'm planning to do at the time.

Murder sprees = Strong

General break-in and looting = Cait

Visiting new places = Curie

Killing gunners + raiders = MacCready

Hacking and exploring = Deacon

General quests = Piper or Nick

Exploring = Hancock

Modding/Crafting = Codsworth

Poor Curie is always hoping strangers will be friendly...

I really don't like goody two-shoes, so usually avoid taking Preston or Paladin Danse. Haven't really spent much time with X6-88 yet, so not sure about him.

Well, my first 5 minutes with Piper I went to a bunker and killed the totally innocent guy there because I wanted his outfit (yes I am kind of a psycho after being a popsicle for 200 years) - she was not impressed :P

I'm with Nick. I think he's really cool. It's that Film Noir style about him. I even put up a post about how great I think he is. He needs his own show.

I have all of them and have maxed Piper. She's good but I can't steal around her. My favorite line was when I jumped into some pool and she said, "Oh look, Blue soup"

May try out Hancock this eve.

Hancock's my favorite character wise.

But I feel Danse is the stongest companion combat wise.

Hancock's my overall favorite. He just fits my style so well. He likes to get in close with that sawed-off shotgun, likes cracking the skulls of jerks who have it coming and he likes to get a little wild with the chems. He's a badass with a heart of gold buried under that rotten skin.

Also a fan of MacCready. Gives me some nostalgia from Fallout 3, and he and my character get along almost perfectly. Don't think he's disliked one things I've done since i got him lol.

From what I understand you can send companions "home" as long as you never have assigned them to a settlement. The thing is the game doesn't tell you this. You have to back out of the conversation and the companion will go to his/her original base. But once you assign them to a settlement, the settlement becomes "home". It really needs to be fixed. I have Valentine walking around Sanctuary and Piper at the Castle. They really look out of place.

As for the answer: Valentine is my bro but Curie is just adorable. I can't stand Cait.

Piper, hands down. Something about that spunk in her. And the dark hair. And the sense of humor. Wouldn't mind getting with her if she were real. Plus she's pretty good at handling herself in a fight given the right stuff.
