Threw a grenade at raider and she freaking shot it out of my hand and got killed instantly. Why do I even wear armor when explosives can one shot me in early game ?

Hahahaha... sorry. I actually blew myself up with a grenade early on, because of a bad throw.

Grenades can be handy. And you can shoot them via vats and blow up raiders in return.

You can pad your armour so that you take less explosive damage. I much prefer the mines though, satisfying kills in this game.

I threw one, it hit a wall and bounced back. My body parts were spread from one end of the Commonwealth to the other.

A better opening act is an artillery smoke grenade.

The magical part is that it was just one raider in the middle of no where. I would be more understanding if it was a large group of them concentrating fire on me. But nope it was just some random chick with the eyes and hands of God in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, I found out accidentally today that you can target grenades and cocktails mid air. Pretty sweet.

I tried survival mode once...as much as I like metal armor, enemies spam molotovs and far too often get direct hits(even on normal) which kill you instantly at low level, so i moved to shadowed leather to make it harder for them to instantly kill me with fire even though bullets hurt a bit more..maybe ill try survival mode again some day, but that is not this day

Grenades are great for scaring an enemy out of cover to where I can get a bettter VATS shot.

I find mines better for taking down large swarms of Bloat flys or Blood bugs. Drop on on the floor, back up as the swarm comes at you, then VATS the mine as they pass over it (Since they don't detonate it themselves)
