Settlement Horror Stories

So what sort of mistakes have you made with the Settlement system so far?

I'm getting a Sims like joy out of all the mistakes I've made so far.

* Putting all of my beds out under the canopy at the Starlight Drive in. Not realizing I could construct houses for my settlers.

* Wasting a hundred Steel in Fencing around the radiation lake, not realizing you could scrap the barrels.

* Constructing houses by taking a hallway corner, putting a door on it and a steel wall and making a one-room "house" with a red wooden door in a row rather than use the Pre-Fab Shacks.

* Leaving my Recruitment beacon on at all sites until they were utterly overrun with refugees.

* Not realizing you didn't need to break down stuff with the Workbench and always dropping stuff before scrapping it.

Any failures on your part?

I share your story with the beacon.... I turned all of them off for the moment, so i can focus on other matters.

They've could made a better tutorial or a kind of expanded PDF document for the building mechanisme, because it is more deep and complex than it seems.

I made a lot of mistakes too, which makes sanctuary a total dump...

I spent a hour cleaning evreything up after unlokcing the castle and relocate my main base there.

Hell, I don't even knew you could sent settlers to other camps...

Ugh. I did the same with the barrels of radiation at the drive-in - I'm going to have to fix that now that I know that its' possible.

It gets funnier as once the radiation was gone, I realized it was there so I could put a forty Water Point Large Water Purifier in the middle of it.

Apparently, that's not a pond but a [censored] well.
