Fallout 4 What You want to see in DLC and Future Updates

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 10:50 pm

So please note fallout 4 is my first Fallout Game i've played/playing. (played skyrim, oblivion & a bit of dishonoured).

Also note: I havn't done much in the way of main campaign.

So please NO SPOILERS when commenting.

I really like the settlements, a little annoying you can't scrap a couple more of the buildings in sanctuary. - So way more options both in buildings and defense.

One thing I realised after watching a video is that I feel like the game is geared towards being a good guy. i.e. Minutemen

It would be cool if you could build a Raider camp/ create a gang and gather information that way about things. Minutemen vs Raider/gang war or something. Or at least have a dialogue option to be more of a villainous character.

Thats all I got at the moment but do comment on other things

The ability to have power armor-clad guards for our settlements.

Revenge of the Enclave...

And any sort of excuse for them to give us the old school Chinese Stealth suit

OH OH OH. Grenade machine gun, I want to see that make a come back as well. (Because...)

The ability for cyber implants, some that might even make a change to your character's appearance

Mini Nuke turret

Less Shanty town and more high tech building options. I just know the Enclave and BoS are laughing at my tree house settlements while sitting in side their metal fortresses. :sadvaultboy:

Also like you said, It would be great to be able to have more of a blank canvas to build stuff in settlements. The left over bushes protruding through floors, run down houses and all the other messy crap left over in Sanctuary really get on my inner landscape artists nerves sometimes.

Spoiler
Imagine what the Institute sees. :P

I like the idea of making sloppy-looking buildings. I'd hate having Sanctuary be half destroyed houses and half super-mega-death star skyscraqers.

A DLC where you can be turned into a Ghoul or a Synth and similar to how TES has Vampires and Werewolves you can turn into maybe with a separate perk chart for each

more Settlement assets like access to prewar assets so stuff doesn't have to look like its about to fall apart

armour system similar to the weapon system

a DLC to make the base parts of weapons from scrap (like say you want an energy weapon but nothing is dropping [censored] just craft one)

a DLC to combine energy and bullet weapons into one thing like some kinda abomination

a DLC to craft ammo

a DLC to craft power armour shells and parts

a DLC for rechargeable fusion cores

(these dont even have to be all separate DLC either)

How would you 'turn into' a synth? It doesn't work that way.

Armor system is similar already.

For starters, more settlement assets. As most, I want to be able to get some high tech stuff, even if I need to do some fancy quest.

Other than that, after 60 hours of playing (and still not having visited Diamond City XP ) I can't say I want any other addition/fixing DLC. So I hope Beth focuses on some nice story DLCs.

Patched in PDQ: Make Nick Valentine a romance option.

Other than that, I have no big beefs that I want to see changed; I'm up for whatever.

Well for starters I would like a Fallout game as a DLC. Because this isn't.

My request is simple. I want to be able to name settlers so I know who is whom secondly a terminal where I see what settler is assigned to what task.

I think those should have been in vanilla.

As a more fun request I would like more sea creatures. I assume the first dlc will be us taking a boat to some giant island.

Which its my surprise that they didn't have a reloading bench like they did in fallout new vegas. I know it svcked but it at least let you craft ammo from scrap. Also with the different ammo types as well.

I would like an underwater base or something.

Also more settlement options and defenses.

More kickass weapons

More Dog Armor, maybe even a Mr. Handy Armor.

The ability to attach weapons to Dogmeats armor, something in a nice chain gun, or laser blaster.

I thought people cried when Bethesda Game Studios sold Horse Armor DLC's for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and wanted to sell expansion packs instead.

Now people are back to asking Bethesda Game Studios to sell armor, weapons, quests, buildings, etc DLC's again? If they are included for free in patches then I'm fine with it, but to sell? No.

Just sell expansion packs, much better and you get a lot more content worth for the money you spend purchasing the expansion packs.

Maybe instead of post-game expansions, add stuff to the base game, like say a raider faction or Schrodinger dialogue options to retcon the backstory if we wish. They probably won't do that though. At least with post-game expansions, since the main plot is done, it'll be like side-quests and the PC will shut up about their baby.

I really miss the wasteland feeling. And seems, it gets worse with next titles. The map isn't too big, yet it's so dense with POI. Kinda surreal, even ridiculous, even more, than F3 and Skyrim, where same problem is present. It's so tightly here. Claustrophobic. I would like to see, to feel the emptiness of barren lands, that could exist together with such dense areas. No need to be shy. 30x30 km sound fine to me. What for? Well, apart from immersion, seriously spoiled for me by this "dollhouse" world proportions then even reaching the next densely populated area could be not trivial achievement. Dull? Not necessarily. Not at all in fact. Such expances could be great for random encounters and locations + some hostile wild life. And finally a chance to make a good use of some Chrysalis Highwayman or other vehicle. I see great potential here in fact.

This could be added even to this map, just by expanding it's borders, but I would say, it' mostly for F5 wish.

Maybe also deeper survival aspect, no need to affraid a bit of hardcoe, as long it's optional. Modders could do this for F3/NV, Bethesda can too.

Things like additional settlement development/events/mechanics possibilities are rather obvious to expect. :P

Lastly I have a dream to see someday better visuals in Bethesda game. I'm reffering to the graphical engine, which for some reason, same for F3 and Skyrim, makes all, what I see pale and flat somehow. No feel of 3D deepness, no vibrant light and shadow play etc. Currently most of the time it's lke watching the faded painting.

Updates? First let them fix all the problems, like mess in menu keys/GUI for PC, sorting some issues with dialogues, small issues ith visuals (like this slight blur around object edges each time I move) etc.

Better settlement building. Like perpendicular wall snap points and vertical snap points. Ability to turn off snap points for the item your holding. Maybe add in more items that can phase through objects like the wood cement foundation. Recruitable named npcs for settlement quests, so there is more to do in them.

More power armors, potentially already in works since one if the factions mentions it.

Maybe a way to work in becoming a synth with interchangable parts, like the power armor and add balancing by adding a capped level for it.

A fight club or monster arena, seems typical for a wasteland scene.

More areas in or like the glowing sea, I have found that area highly enjoyable but not enough to explore there in my opinion.

And maybe some radio quests to find new songs for the stations.

TBF The term DLC and expansion packs are kinda one of the same these days with the latter being mostly phased out over the years in favour of nickle and dime DLC's. While it may be true Betheseda were one of the first to introduce nickle and diming to the gaming world, they are also one of the few devs left that do release proper expansion packs.
