Vault-Tech more evil than the Umbrella Corporation?

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 3:00 am

Do you guys think Vault tech is a more evil organization than Umbrella (resident evil) ?

I fail to see the end game here for vault tech- they are all over the place and kinda loopy . The war started and apparently that didnt stop them from going through with some of the most pointless and absurd experiments i have ever heard of. It takes determination to conduct some of these idiotic tests on survivors when the friggin world just ended in a nuclear holocaust....and the overseers that played along are just as stupid IMO. The world ended fellas- worry about staying alive - not playing stupid tests on survivors. Trapping a guy alone in a vault with puppets? No thanks. Making people go crazy with noise? Why? Making a vault with 999 women and 1 man? Heaven (but pointless)

Umbrella on the other hand (at least in Resident evil 1-3) had one sole focus- to create a military weapon that would completely turn the world upside down. Sure, its not as exotic as all the crap vault tech was doing, but it was focused and had a purpose that we can all understand

So which is worse? My vote is umbrella!

PS- i wish they didnt go lazy on the Enclave story line in the modern fallouts- and please- NO MORE GAMES IN THE NORTHEAST. Take it back to California and the west where all the lore is. Give me NCR- Poseidon and the Masters Vault in LA over any of the crap going on in the East ANYDAY!

Well, Vault-Tec was basically controlled by the Enclave. If Interplay didn't cancel their Fallout 3, Van Buren, we would've had it in lore that the Vault's were being used as a testing ground for the Enclaves eventual plan to leave the Earth on board a space ship, but later scrapped the idea and decided to retake the mainland.

Vault-Tec was just a tool used by the Enclave to carry out the various experiments on live human subjects to test what might happen in various situations.

The people who owned and worked at Vault-Tec weren't evil, but they also weren't good either. They were interested in money, and in cases like Braun's, being able to carry out research regardless of it's moral implications. The same could be applied to West-Tek and it's creation of FEV, which was originally created as a way to make American soldiers immune to all possible biological agents the Chinese could use against them. Of course, this applies to those who knew about what they were doing. I don't think the Vault-Tec Rep or a lot of the lower level people who weren't in the know prior to the bombs dropping are evil.

Vault-tec seems to be more into the social experiments than Umbrella Corporation ever was. Lets see what happens when we put 999 men and 1 woman into the same vault or lets have the people sacrifice one person each year to survive, but actually it was a test to study human decency. Very few vaults dealt with Umbrella Corp's level of evil like exposing unsuspecting vault dwellers to mind control, radiation, FEV, hallucinogenic drugs, or a mad Vault-tec scientist.

Maybe Fallout 5 would be against Vault Tec. How cool it would be if they actually managed to colonise another planet or the moon (using stolen alient tech) and now they are back to take over the world or your part of the world.

Well, the Umbrella Corporation is just BAD at it's job.

Vault-Tech was very good at its job.

Also, we got an explanation for why everything was sadistic and Nazi-esque.

Braun (ala Tranquility Lane's scientist), who is implied to be a former NAZI, was in charge of Vault-Tech's science.

I agree with one poster in part. It would be cool to find the people that ran the vault tech company and take them out in fallout 4 dlc or fallout 5.
