Regarding the graphics in the trailer vs actual in-game.

graphics may be the wrong word. i should have stated details in the world building.

this is running the game on ultra graphics on my pc.

Some major differences I see;

No spotlight

no street hydrant, or sidewalk grater

the hanging bulbs in the trailer theres many more. in-game, theres only one line above.

behind the walking character in the trailer, you see what looks like someones shelter, with a character interacting with an object. in-game it is completely absent detail

the barrels, lighting, and road blocks to the right of the screen are completely different

there are objects/buildings missing in the distance

overall, in-game at this location there is much less detail in the environment.

i may have missed some things but it is clear this one corner of the game world was touched up with extra details for the trailer. I wish we could have this kind of detail all over but what of performance?

You made the classic mistake of believing in promotional trailers.

there is more missing than just lighting, there are objects, characters, and details missing in the environment that were present in the trailer.

The trailers for Portal2 had a lot of objects and enemies that were not present in the actual game.

At least clutter and lighting mods may address some issues in the future. It did take a while but Skyrim had several realistic lighting mods where the diffuse ambient lightsources were removed and placed on actual objects instead according to internally consistent rules.

Same thing happened to The Witcher 3. Folks, ALWAYS take any promotional material with a grain of salt.

It is a bit jarring isn't it? The ingame picture looks like it's in New Vegas.
