Graphic cards differences - my little experience

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 3:52 pm

So I recently installed fallout on my now semi obsolete AMD rig (R9 290). When playing, it didn't have the same feeling as my super duper laptop - like the lighting and even the textures seemed meh. My laptop is running a 980M, and it looks fabulous. Settings are both on ultra (the AMD is on fxaa, 16x anistropic, whole the 980M is on txaa at 8x anistropic). Resolutions were the same (1080).

I haven't had time to really test this (and I really don't care to invest age it that much) but does anyone else here share similar experience?

This makes me wonder if Nvidia has something more optimized with the fallout engine.

I'm running the game on an R9 280 at mostly Ultra settings. Apart from some crappy tectures, the game looks great to me.

I tried on an older Nvidia GX 500 series laptop, had to scale it back a lot!

Runs on ultra on my 980m laptop!

*both have i7 4-core, albeit generations apart!
