Start of Game - Anyone NOT Pay for Vault Access?

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 11:52 pm

I love how doomsday occurs a mere 5 minutes after purchasing a vault package from that salesman. Lucky me, I guess.

Was curious what happens if you don't opt-in to what he's selling. Do you die immediately? I suspect you somehow wrangle your way into a vault, right?

You had to pay money? I just remember him saying I was pre-approved and filling out the info. I wondered what would happen if you shut him down myself.... something to find out next play through.

I told him to [censored] off but you are already pre selected. It would have been nice to have the option though. RP a cheap bastard and when I run to the vault entrance I get denied and Shaun says his first words. "Dada, don't want to die in concussive blast zone." And you get to watch everyone get vaporized except yourself because you turn into a ghoul.

LOL. If there is ever a time to speak, doing so to avoid dying in the concussive blast zone is the time to do it.

Would be an awesome alternate beginning.

I told him to "goooo awayyyy" and when [censored] hit the fan my guy says "Come on! We have to get to the vault!" I had to do somethings I am not proud of to get in.

I decided not to go to the vault and tried running towards the red rocket. Not a good idea.

Which honestly is better then a invisible wall, which you would have bumped into otherwise.

Yeah, I think it was a neat idea. You can't really do anything about the salesman, though. You were pre-approved so even if you tell him off the guards will let you through at the vault.

I don't think you actually pay anything, I just said "yes" to everything he offered. I don't think you officially have inventory yet at that point in the game.

Was just curious how the game mechanics worked. Kinda figured you'd get into the vault regardless, otherwise it's a really short game.

It would be fun if bethesda has time to add a cinematic where you can choose no and you get blown out big time in some super awesome way.

I think it should be an alternate opening. If you run away from the vault, you get ghoulified. then you get a quest to return to the vault to see what happened to your wife(husband) and child.

If you keep saying 'no' to him, your spouse eventually tells you to just do it... and you fill out the paperwork.
