Sending your companion to where you found them

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 7:15 am

I just found something out accidentally. I thought that once you discovered/hired a companion, you just had to send him to one of your settlements when dismissed. Today when playing, I accidentally pressed the exit button (circle on ps4) when the settlement window came up after I dismissed Piper and to my surprise, the game said "Piper is going to Publick Occurences". So, even if its implicit, you can actually send your companions to their original locations.

Good to know.

I felt like I was depriving Goodneighbour when I told Hancock to join my other buddies at Sanctuary. I'll send him back as The Shroud in a minute. I felt like Cait's story was incomplete after finishing her quest too. Felt I'd have to swing by the Combat Zone with her at some point, now I can just tell her to stop sitting at my kitchen counter and I'll see her when I see her!

Thanks.

Unfortunately this only works if you haven't sent them anywhere previously. Like if you sent them to Sanctuary Hills, and then recruited them and tried to "exit" instead of explicitly sending them somewhere, they'll go to Sanctuary Hills.

That's disappointing. I've already maxed out my relationship with Piper, so I've moved on to new companions. I've already sent her to Sanctuary Hills - I want her to go back to Diamond City so that she can be with her sister, but horribly they will never see each other again. I mean, unless I force a visit. Fallout is a cruel world.
