Is it possible to be evil?

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 4:57 am

So I have put 75 hours into the game so far. Completed the main story and a good amount of side quests. From the beginning I have felt like I am being forced to be a good guy.

So I wanted to know from anyone else if it is actually possible to be evil in the game? Much like how you could blow up megaton in fallout 3 or do evil things in New Vegas for Caesar. If you guys have found a way to do an evil play through I would love to find out more.

Huge thread on this here: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1553528-in-fallout-4-you-cannot-be-evil-a-critique/page-3#entry24532516

But the general opinion is 'No' - not with actual scripted 'evil' choices and outcomes, anyway. There's also no Karma system like FO3 had, so you can be the Scourge of the Wasteland but no one will know it or care even if they did.

But you can drive off your companions if you do too much stuff they don't like, so technically there are consequences for being 'evil' - just no positive ones.

Watched a video where one of the hosts created research laboratories in their settlement to see the effect of Tesla Arcs on humans. Truly evil players don't have the game lead them by the hand to be evil.

You can say some fairly "evil" things, but other than that, everyone seems to be completely oblivious to you. Nothing you say or do really matters, or impacts the world around you.

Wasn't anything elaborate just stairs, a pit at the top of the stairs and a fence to keep the research subjects in place, but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYarnSAtWCc.
