Trouble with Ayleid traps

Post » Sat Jun 05, 2010 8:07 pm

I'm currently building my first dungeon and I just cant seem to get it right...

So far I'm including:

-A wall button that triggers a secret wall to fall down
--Problem here: I can select the parent reference fine but when I push the button nothing happens to the wall.

-Swinging blade traps
--Problem here: None yet, but I could use some advice on how to do this correctly...

-Gas Traps
--Problem here: I have four gas traps that are set off by the same trigger plate. I have gotten 3/4 to activate simultaneously when the plate is stepped on but I cannot get the other one. I tried redoing it and now none of them work. What could I be doing wrong? I select the pressure plate for all four of the gas traps by the way, is this the wrong way to do it?

As I remember, to set off multiple traps from one trigger, you parent the first one to the pressure plate, then the second trap to the first trap, and so on, so that when the pressure plate is triggered, the first trap goes off, setting off the next. You can link as many as you want like this and they should go off simultaneously. As for the wall, I am not sure what to do.

Which wall are you using? Is it set as a Persistent Reference?

Instead of using one pressure plate, use four trigger zones (see your other topic for more details on that). Assign one trigger zone to each of the four gas traps and put all four trigger zones on the same spot. That way, all four get triggered at once.

Its set as a persistent reference. I'm also using the fast falling secret wall (Not sure of ID)
