Console Commands On Console

I think if somehow they brought console commands to console it could solve a lot of problems. I am a console peasant and there are some quest bugs that could be fixed with a console command. It would save time and trouble. Also I could get Knight-Captain Cade's fatigues without killing him. Thoughts?

Yeah really can't see it happening. It's been requested a billion times on many games over the years and for some reason (probably with a lot of technical mumbo jumbo), nada.

maybe I'm not familiar enough with console commands but why would you say that? it doesn't alter the executable at all and can't be used in itself to load unnauthorized content

This is one of many reasons I'm contemplating switching to pc as my main gaming system. Only keep my console around for exclusives.

There are myriad seemingly insignificant things that cause games to fail certification. It's just a hunch, but I would not be shocked if an exposed dev console is one such thing.

A select few I'm betting. They have been able to bring mods to console for years now but M$ and Sony wouldn't have it due to it being free and to a lesser extent couldn't be bothered to do the work to police it (again probably because it is free content).

I mean, I'm just going off of what I've seen on the list of console commands and can't think of anything that could. I was just curious if there was anything specific you were thinking

You don't understand. It doesn't matter what the console can or cannot do. The mere fact that a player can access it, regardless of its capability, could be enough for Sony or Microsoft to refuse to certify the game.

The fact is, no one knows anything about it yet. Todd already commented when someone asked if mods for consoles would reach the level of Project Brazil and he said "that's the plan". Whether they get anywhere close to that is left to be seen but I wouldn't write it off to a select few

Haha ok so just speculation, got it. Was hoping someone would have actually reasons with precedents set by either company. The fact that they're allowing player made mods to come onto consoles says more than what you're saying to me

Well here's hoping. After how good an achievement FO4 is it would be great to see Bethesda further that by being the ones to bring mods to consoles.. Saying that I'm also quite dubious due to them also being the ones in league with Valve that tried to put a price tag on them. I'll guess like you say we will just have to see what happens.
