WTF! Everyone Keep Asking If I will Kill Or Die For Them...

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 7:51 am

Why does it seem like every single faction except for the Minuteman asks me right of the bat If I am either willing to kill or die for them?

Me: "Hi, I am Iceman, nice to me........"

Faction I just met: "Yeah yeah, nevermind that. Will you kill our enemies and die for us?"

Me: "Uh...we just met, don't you think we should......"

Faction I just met: "No, will you kill someone for us or die for us.......answer now."

I've read reviews where the dialogue is uninspired. I already knew this would happen, so I'll wait for a better Fallout. Preferably one made by OBSIDIAN FFS.

that's maybe to create that emotional bond from the beginning with that faction, and feel you belong to this group and to make more difficult or interestng to join and defend a faction or betray them and fight them in the future, as far as i know, if you join a faction you can't join another faction later

Well it prevents me from joining any faction. They all seem pretty upset when I said "no way". I just met the [censored]ers why am I supposed to swear allegiance to them already? Fortunately it does make it easier to just play a lone wolf guy and just kill people from any faction I come across.

Maybe try increasing charisma? Dialogue tends to be more 3 dimensional.

I didn't get that at all. Danse, for example, simply asks you to lend a hand, seeing that you can handle yourself, when you first meet him and doesn't really hold it against you if you turn him down. Same thing if you decide to got to Arcjet. You prove yourself, and he asks you to join in a very polite way. If you turn him down, or say you'd like time to think about it, he understands, knowing it's a big decision. Same with Preston and the minutemen.

I haven't gotten into any Railroad or Institute stuff yet, but I imagine they ask you to take a harder line at the start. Not surprising really, given the circumstances.

Well it is the wasteland after all & considering a great deal of those request are directed at raider scum or super mutants it is to be expected I guess after all having a do nothing slacker as the main character would be counter productive & boring as all hell

Not so much Danse as a certain other high ranking BoS character who you meet later on..... I will not name for spoiler reasons.

Well they aren't clubhouses, they are serious organisations with serious goals, goals that demand loyalty and a willingness to kill, so it kinda makes sense they dont bother recruiting ya unless you're willing to be loyal.
