Fast Travel Clicking Issue

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 7:30 am

I try to fast travel and I can only get it to work if I click on a location multiple times. Traveling to listening post bravo and attempting to hack the terminal there does nothing. Deleting the Fallout4prefs.ini file also does nothing. I have no idea what caused the issue, I was playing just fine this morning and then I load today to discover the problem, and loading previous saves also does nothing. Anybody found a fix to this or have any ideas?

I found this on another site, hope it works for you.

Open up the console and enter

DumpInputEnableLayers

In the data dump look for Disabled Layers and for the Fast Travel Disabled line. It should have an integer number after it. Mine was 0.

Then enter

ResetInputEnableLayer #

where # = to the layer number that mentioned Fast Travel Disabled.

It doesn't have that line listed. It has Freeze for the first layer and First Ship Swap for the second line.

I should also point out that, In power armor, this problem is nonexistent. But I don't particularly use Power Armor.

Okay, try this...

Go back to listening post bravo.

Go inside and activate the terminal on the far wall.

You don't have to hack it or anything, just enter it and then exit it.
Now go outside and see if you can't fast travel once again.

Like I said, tried that one too. Still no idea what the issue could even be

Yeah, sorry about that last entry. I read your OP, but didn't *read* it, I guess.

Do you get the message, "Fast Travel is unavailable from this location"? My guess is, you don't.

I'd suggest resetting the Bravo quest, but I haven't found a quest ID for it and without the creation kit, I can't think of any other way to get it. I don't know if it's true for you, but those players who this fix didn't work seemed to have completed or already hacked that computer. I have little confidence, but you could try to reset the terminal using the *lock 50* console command, with the terminal clicked on and it's ref ID showing on the console screen. Than you could hack it again.

Outside of the two methods already covered, the only remaining ideas I have are to use coc (center on cell) to move the player from console, but that requires you to dig up as many location IDs and write them down as you can. Otherwise, you might just have to wait for Bethesda's help, and who knows how long that will take.

Nah never got the message, nor one about me in combat. A couple of other people have been having the same issue I have but not too many. As for writing down every location and just typing in to fast travel there, that's not really necessary. It will eventually pop up to let me fast travel to the location, but it's kinda finicky. Sometimes the message will pop up almost instantly after a click or two, other times (a lot more of the time) I'll have to click a dozen or so times and after about 3-4 seconds the message will pop up. With how buggy people are reporting this game to be though, I'm glad this is the only bug I've yet to encounter, it could be much worse than just a nuisance.
