3 Dumb things I have found.

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 3:51 am

Strong hates when I use lockpicking.. Not to steal but just in the world... Wth?

In settlements there are objects you can scrap but can't craft. The models and assets are already there... Why can't we craft them.

The penetrator perk works only when it feels like it and that's about 50% of the time.

What 3 annoying things have you found.

BTW I love Fallout 4; there are just some silly things.

Some of the craftable items are in the game. You just need to find comics to unlock them.

I haven't had any trouble picking locks that aren't owned. Don't know how you're getting that to happen.

Some objects for settlements can be unlocked by finding magazines. For example, I found a magazine that allowed me to build picket fences like in Sanctuary Hills. Though I suppose there will always be limits and not everything can be used in settlement building.

Yeah, I suspected as much coming from a perk that involves shooting a wall.

But here are mine:

1. Why isn't there an option to scrap junk from within the workshop/crafting table menus? I know the materials still count so long as there is junk in the workshop, but I hear you actually lose some materials if they're used for crafting but not scrapped. Seems like such a simple thing to implement over the annoying dropping everything you have.

2. Why replace the clear specification of how close you are to finding a password when hacking with "likeliness"? It doesn't make it any harder, just absolutely vague and unhelpful. I fine myself seeing "likeliness: 1" or "likeliness 2" and I just think to myself "Okay? So...I guess I'm getting somewhere?". Makes hacking more of a guessing game rather than actually determining what the word is and putting pieces together.

3. I hate constantly seeing an object turn red indicating I can't place an object when settlement building, when it looks [censored] clear as day that I can place it there. And then it will randomly turn green in a place that looks like you can't even place it there. Those lovely planted melons that prefer floating in the air rather than staying attached to the ground. Really should have allowed the option for objects to clip into each other though. Would make things much easier and look much better.

Number one is a myth. If you break a fan down just for the screws you won't lose the other materials. They just get dumped into your workbench pile without any notices given.

Found a lone Scavenger in a shack on the North border. All the containers at that location are marked as owned.

Had a holotape vanish from my inventory, so now I have a quest I can't finish. (anyone know the console command to add an item to inventory?)

In the super mart. If you look at the storage bins out back, they have pallets in them that are sideways, unwrapped (I.E. the containers are not secured to the pallet), right up against the ceiling (major fire hazard) and far too low for that room (the boxes could have just been tossed in with a ladder). As someone who works in receiving, this is driving me nuts.

1. You'll never lose materials that way. Yes you've heard it, but you've heard wrong.

2. You're misreading the terminal. It's "likeness," not "likeliness." As in, how many characters of your guess are alike to the actual password. I.e. the fundamental premise of the minigame ;)

3. Build mode is quirky. It doesn't seem like something to get super upset about, but at least in this case your "per peeve" is actually there :P

1. Alright, that's good to know.

2. I'm an idiot.

3. True. It's not a feature I spend too much time on anyway. But had there been a clipping future, I would probably find it more engaging when building and perhaps use the feature more often instead of constantly trying to get an item in a position the game thinks is aproper position.

Alright, so there is one dumb thing about this game I don't like. Huzzah.

I've heard that the issue with items not showing in the workbench is a display bug, and if you leave, sleep for an hour, then return, the items will be there.

1. I can't punch named characters in the face and watch them die.

2. I can't shoot named characters in the face and watch them die.

3. I can't mini-nuke named characters in the face and watch them die.

And a final bonus one:

4. I can't punch, shoot, or nuke Preston Garvey in the face and watch him die. (He has bugged out and refuses to be my companion, we were going to be road trip buddies!!!)

1. Cait likes bargaining to get more caps for quests but dislikes it if I accept the task without beeing a dike cO

2. Building mode...seriously...what were you thinking? Building in first person perspective without proper snapping and clipping for nearly everything buildable? Premade walls and stuff which don't fit to single walls in terms of size? Could be far better, seriously. Got so many ideas of stuff to build, but it's not even possible to build a proper balcony in the second floor, without nasty gaps and [censored]...

Got no third point, I'm pleased with the game as is, just fix the stupid building and may add some love to melee combat, i just don't like V.A.T.S.-teleport-bashy playstyle or running around as a human tank in PA...

1. The Weathervane quests - once turned in, another one starts automatically whether I want it or not.

2. Companions dislike when I steal stuff... even if I told them to wait in another room and they shouldn't even be able to see me get up to my shenanigans.

3. See one and two.
