Food in settlements not growing

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 7:25 pm

I'm not sure why, but right now some of my food isn't growing in my settlement. Old food is growing fine but when I planted a ton of new food, they won't grow. And i can't remove them either. It seems the game only lets you remove the plants after the food has actually grown on them.

Currently I'm just using other settlements to collect the food I want, but it's just a slight annoyance. Is there perhaps a limit to how much food you can grow that I'm not aware of?

I'll come back after a little while and old plants will have food on them while the newer plants are still like I had just placed them.

Note I don't believe it's a matter of "not waiting long enough." It's been quite a while, in game time, since I placed them. No new food has been growing anything.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but check to see if you have settlers assigned to it.

This is a Bug.

Happened to me in the Castle.

Just wrote it off for a loss and planted new stuff.

Makes for nice scenery, though.

1 settler assigned to a plant will then tend 5 more plants, giving a total of 6 plants per settler. Did you assign a settler to the newly planted food?

No it wouldn't matter. You can still pick the plants yourself if no one is assigned. These plants are unselect-able, even in the workshop menu.

I figured as much. I just thought I would ask if I had possibly missed something.

I wish I could, but the plants are impossible to pick for some reason.

This isn't a HUGE deal to me. I'm mostly using the plants so I can make adhesive and have plenty of it now thanks to other settlements. It was more just an annoyance though. Hopefully Bethesda will fix the issue. I'm assuming it is a bug.
