Hello wastelanders.

Just to clarify, I'm no cosplayer, but I'm a big fan of the work some people do in their costumes specialy the ones involving armor similar to the one I'm about to discuss here.

So, I was wondering if anyone with expirience in cosplaying could tell me if its possible to make an exact copy of the power armor from fallout 4 and if could it also be used to replicate the animation we see when the character goes inside to operate it ?

From what I can tell, the exoskeleton is detailed enough to be used as...well...the skeleton to mold the outter layers of the armor (the steel plates, not that I'm thinking of creating a cosplay with steel of course...).

With that said here some of my main questions:

Wich materials would be ideal ?

How heavy it would be considering proposed materials ?

And last but not the least important...the costs involving the creation of such ?

Appriciate any good information regarding and if anyone is already working in it please do share some pictures of your work !

I've seen several really good, professional looking cosplays of the Mk.1 Iron Man suit (the one he made from scrap metal). I don't see how making F4 power armor would be fundamentally any different from that.

Replicating the animation is a whole different story

Yeah.. that's gonna be a tough one. You might have to hire some real engineers and industrial designers.

I was thinking in something mechanical not necessarly automatic as shown in the game.

A hidden lever peraphs ? I guess it would be up to the design of the frame I guess but as I mentioned in the OP, it be up to the materials involved I believe.
