That would be cool. Maybe have synths patrolling around in the case of the Institute, or in case of the BoS have Scribes do research on terminals and what not, allowing you to maybe rack up some kind of "research points" depending on how many dedicated research settlements you have. Unlocking different weapons, mods, power armor. Stuff like that. There are so many possibilities with this settlement system that go way beyond the simple settler-farmer communities. Can't wait to see what kind of stuff gets implemented in the future. :)

If they actually gave some reasons to be evil, evil quests and what not, more people may actually give it a try. A dropped ball imo. Building raider/slaver settlements would have been good, to go along with evil quests.

Alternatively, the ability to use Synths to do all the hard work would be nice as well.
