My Date With A Deathclaw

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 8:19 pm

I was on a Minuteman quest to save the farmer's wife at Nordhagen Beach. On my way to the beach as I was in an area next to Easy City Downs, a deathclaw jumped right out of the bushes with no warning. I was like, "oh ^*()! A deathclaw!" It was all on me like white on rice and I didn't have time to prepare as I was laying mines as I ran. I was running and shooting as the thing flailed its claws and swiped at me. It was still kicking even after it was caught in an explosion wrought by an exploding truck and one of my mines. I was shooting it with V.A.T.S and a critical and scarfed down refreshing beverages and stimpacks and I finally brought it down and moved on to the beach.

Well. On my first character (who managed to get to Level 51 before I sent him to retirement) has killed many Deathclaws... The Combat Shotgun (when fully upgraded) is overpowered. Honestly, normal Deathclaws aren't much of a problem. It's the higher level ones and special ones you don't want to screw around with. Like Glowing Deathclaws and Chameleon Deathclaws... I REALLY hate the Chameleon ones with a passion.
