Need major help with FO1.

Post » Sun Jun 06, 2010 10:11 am

Ok, last night I started the original Fallout, and I have quite a few problems, I was wondering if I could get some advice or help from you guys.

Here some questions:

Well, everytime I fight multiple enemies at once there's no way to win, it just seems impossible. Is there a way I could help?

I can I get extra caps to buy armor, more guns, etc?

And, where can I get Vault Dweller's signature Armored Vault 13 clothing?

When I went to Necropolis to look for the water chip, the sewer ghoul leader told me to go the watershed and find some parts to fix the pump. What are these parts? and were can I find the watershed?

Thanks, all help will be greatly appreciated.

Don't fight multiple opponents at once until you get tougher.

Do some quests, like the caravan runs, for example.

And, where can I get Vault Dweller's signature Armored Vault 13 clothing?

You can't. It doesn't appear in-game, only in the outro.

You need to find an item called "Junk", found e.g. in the Necropolis sewer and some other places.

1. Well, sometimes I travel through the desert? And, 3 or 4 just maul me. But, where are good places to train in the beginning?

2. Alright.

3. Ok. I thought you could get because Vault Dweller is always depicted wearing it.

4. And if I find "junk" give it to the leader, i'll get the water chip?

No, you have to use Repair on the pump. And you get the water chip from Vault 12 in Necropolis, but you'll lose Karma if you do it without fixing the pump first.

Run if you can't hold your own at that point; Also prioritize your targets. Take out the biggest threats first. Lastly... You don't have to spend all your AP's every round ~Unspent AP's increase your armorclass and represent the PC's being on the defensive. In some situations you can push your AC above what is easy to hit for your opponent. (and the AC bonus lasts for the rest of the round).

Barter is the main currency of the game, and Caps are for equalizing the values. You can hire on as a guard for the Caravans, and if you work for Butch, you get a discount in the Gun shop.

And, where can I get Vault Dweller's signature Armored Vault 13 clothing?
Is there an armored Vault suit in FO1? If there is, I never found it.

Search the holding cells in the back of the building.

You know, I often thought that maybe that defense bonus should have been about twice what it was in that game - I never really got much use out of holding back AP points, myself.

Anyway, to the OP. The advice you already got it pretty much the best you're going to get. Like has been said - if you get in over your head with combat, often the best response is to run. I know it's counter-intuitive in regards to a lot of games out there today; but that's actually done on purpose in Fallout. It's a dangerous world, you're going to run into problems you that you won't necessarily be able to handle. The difficulty curve seriously evens out farther on down the line. It might be very tough going at first, but once you have your Power Armor and Plasma Rifle or whatever, you're going to be basically strolling through anything the game will throw at you. :)

In FO2, it is... if you have the HtH:Evade Perk, and end the round Unarmed (with no equipped guns or melee weapons).

It's not as bad as Morrowind. In Morrowind one couldn't even properly run away because initially one generally moved at a snail's pace.
