Did the map maker get fired? He should have.

I have the survival guide, and found it useful..I try not to use it much I'm on my first play through...but yea I hear ya on the numbering, however in your example..vault 111 is a primary location, and the creek bed is a secondary location...after I got used to it, it was easier for me.

Well, daomn. I've used Unity and some other 3D programs and Y was always up. I assumed that was standard. http://common.ziffdavisinternet.com/encyclopedia_images/XYMATRIX.GIF

With Bethesda's tools specifically, the Z position is height. Your XYZ Gizmo is relative to your plane of reference though.

Map actually looked better in Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, where it was a retro look but had that simplistic design to go with it. The map in fallout 4 tries to be retro and complex, which is why it makes eyes bleed when you look at it.

It's funny, so much of fallout 3 and new vegas was copy and pasted. I feel they've done better in that regard, though I haven't run into much that I wanted to explore. It's a lot of factories, houses, and farms so far.

pipboy Map is FAR better then the colorful, but utterly worthless skyrim map.

now local map, THAT is garbage, and should have just stayed to what skyrim's local map was.
