Thank God I didn't buy it

- weapon durability system removed
- ammo types removed
- hardcoe mode removed
- weapon model on character when holstered removed
- karma system removed
- skills removed
- traits removed
- Interior maps removed
- dialogue system dumbed down
- [censored] Charisma system
- Narrative nowhere near Fallout quality
- Choices don't mean crap, no matter what you do or say you end up doing more or less the same with meaningless variations.
- Buggy as **** performance problems, lacking basic features that require you to go into the files and add lines to the .ini files
- OH! AND DID I MENTION [censored] UP COMPANION AI?!?!?!
This is most [censored], bug ridden watered down RPG ever.....this completely ruined the Fallout franchise, they should change the name of this game and spare the actual original Fallout cRPGs the embarrassment of being the part of the same franchise as this game.
It could have been a good non-Fallout action game (with somewhat RPG elements) back in 2008 but in 2015 almost nothing justifies such a crude and unpolished release.

Whoa..whoa.. slow down there buddy.

I'm not making excuses for them. I'm simply stating the expectation I set for myself when I personally play one of their games. I wish I didn't have to expect things like crashes and bugs, but this is Bethesda we're talking about. It's like saying "Microtransactions" and not thinking about EA.

PS. What cuts it for you is not the same as what cuts it for me or Bob down the street. Don't paint people with the same brush! :nono:

I wasn't comparing anything to Jewish people. I pointing out that "popular opinion" isn't always right.

Just because everyone enjoys Fallout 4 doesn't make it a good Fallout game. Imagine if the Harry Potter movies had guns instead of wands and science instead of magic. Even if they were the highest rated movies of all time, they still wouldn't be good Harry Potter movies because they deviated so much from the source material.

Fallout 4 is more of an FPS game than it is a Fallout game. It's not even really a Bethesda RPG because the role you're playing is decided for you, with there being little room for you to develop your character.

Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas were good games. Those games are the reason people wanted Fallout 4. Yet Bethesda took almost everything good about those games and ditched it for Fallout 4.

Fallout 4 has more in common with Borderlands than it does with Fallout: New Vegas. And you don't see that as a problem?

But that is excusing it. You're accepting it when you shouldn't be. Why should you have to lower your standards for a AAA title released in 2015 that's been in development for 7 years?

That's insane. No other developer/publisher is cut that kind of slack. None of them.

Well fine then, but let's think about this feed back for a sec. do you really think anyone of import at Bethesda is going to sit around and read through this thread looking for feedback? If they did, they would probably see that there are at least as many people who are enjoying the game as there are people who are griping about it, so the feedback is completely mixed at best.

So, if you think you are giving Bethesda meaningful feedback, I'd suggest that YOU are the one without a clue... What are you really accomplishing with this thread? The argument is pointless because the free market will decide. If the game was really all that terrible, it wouldn't sell no matter what franchise it's part of, and Bethesda would do things differently next time. Not that it would alter FO4 in any way of course.

there was at least as much griping about Oblivion because it wasn't Morrowind, and Skyrim because it wasn't Oblivion, but in the end none of that matters.

No interior maps? You can toggle the map to show the interior map when you are inside.

And you think that I am the one without a clue? Amazing!!

This is probably the most BS I have ever heard, if you think this is worthless then why do you keep responding?

Posts are flying by, and I missed this one somehow... :)

Let me say this... When I buy a new game, I want a NEW game. If I like and enjoyed its predecessor, then I may wnat some similarities, but I DO NOT want the same game revamped to play again. If I DID have a single honest complaint about FO4 (which I really don't) it would be that it's too much LIKE FO3. I mean, Vault dweller, nuclear apocalypse, family member take or disappears, wander a wasteland full of ruins seeking the missing son or father. Ghouls good and bad, feral ghouls, supermutants, and a host of frito banditos seeking to steal a good life by killing off the people who can give them what they want.

What made FO3 really fascinating was the setting... Washington DC in ruins, visit the landmarks and see what's left of them. FO4 does the same thing with historic landmarks trying to use the setting to create a unique experience. FONV was much more successful at that with its civil war and House and the Old West flavor.

Still, you should not take all that as a huge complaint on my part, I'm enjoying it despite the similarities... though I'd swear I've done a couple of quests previously (like fixing pipes by looking for leaks...).

I'm glad I bought it, been having a ball.

Not going to bother with all your specific complaints, since at least half of them are just opinions about preferred features, rather than actual game problems, but this quoted bit.....

...you clearly haven't played that many RPGs, if you think that.

I can see how F4 may appeal to you, you lack the required experience with this universe and its lore. You are treating this fantasy out of its context. You might as well go play a CRYSIS or a COD game.

Because I know that, unlike Bethesda, you ARE reading this, and responding. It's YOUR version of feedback that I find less than useful. Why do I keep responding? Because something about you just ticks me off... and I hate to see such crap go unanswered.

Oh, are you one of those "FO1 and 2 were The True Game"/Bethesda-is-evil, NMA escapees? That would explain it.

I was just about to post this. This seems more like an attempt to crap post by someone over at NMA. It's fine and dandy to live your life of hatred, but feel free to take them opinions back home with you...

My mistake I guess I'm not having fun then. Either that or I am having fun but it's wrong that I am having fun.

I'll stop having fun and learn to find joy in one less then in life in order to improve myself.

Actually, due to reasons that deal with associated ptsd triggers I don't play first person shooters at all... but the vats system introduced in FO3 allows me enough distance to be able to enjoy it very well.

As to experience with lore and universe and what not.. I still play FO / FO2 regularly (probably have over a zillion hours on both) And at my age I've found it's healthier not to sweat the little things in life like invisible weapons holstered or (only one) dog getting in my way now and then...

Also, after having played video games since pong, I've come to realize that games, games alway change.

Go play Rome 2 total war without any of the patches, then come back and play Fallout 4 and you'll have a better understanding of tolerable bugs and shipwrecked disasters. Games will have bugs, especially on this scale - software has come a long ways. There is a limitation though, and having a "bug free or bust" mentality is naive as [censored]. I'm ok with Fallout 4 having a few bugs.

I waited 9 years for Rome 2 Total war, and what I got was a game which required an exhaustive 15+ patches to fix. I can't say I've experienced anything in Fallout 4 which will require 15 patches to fix.

I agree they really need to get the bugs under control as you'd think they would want to repair their reputation on that front no matter how much of an under taking their games are but otherwise FO4 is absolutely flippin fantastic and more than I ever hoped for.

Please people, tell me I'm not the only one who damn near busted a nut laughing. Simply too funny!

...and we are supposed to take your opinion seriously?

P.S.

Oh, and I was so happy with my purchase I bought it for my friends kids too, and I'm poor so that says a lot. Hell even their mom is playing and enjoying it.

This has apparently just turned into a free-for-all for flaming, which of course is against the rules. There is never a situation on this forum where it is okay to insult, disrespect, or demean other people for their opinions.
