No, but MGSV made me feel like a stalker/rapist, I mean I was checking out each and every enemy I encounter from far away to see if there are any ones worth taking

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Go to your junk section in your inventory, change the filter (LB) so it shows materials instead of junk items, and favorite (RB) Wood. Whenever you're wandering in the wasteland and there is an item or container containing something with wood, it will be highlighted and will have a magnifying glass icon next to it in the list.

Another great way to get wood is by linking up your settlements.

I have thats the problem, I want a giant 5 story LOTR looking wall at all my settlements you can buy shipments of concrete but wood becomes very scarce once you break down all of the trees,

right now I look for Super Mutants cuz they use boards that are one wood each. ya im that hung up for wood

Scrap the trees (yes the trees) on every settlement, also piles of branches can bee scraqed into wood, any chair or furniture you don't like, also you got to wait about 3 in game day (outside of the settlement) for it to respawn.

Did you built structures were the trees use to grow?

And don't know so far right now I never ran out of wood, but I just focused to built on Sanctuary.

I use red rocket station and the base that you gain trough the minute men quest for material.
