I've just started focusing on getting my affinity up with Codsworth. Funny thing is I've been making tons of armor mods in the settlements that he is staying in (I've never really quested with him) and been doing lots of stuff it says he loves. But now that I'm using him as a companion he doesn't trigger any convos when I talk to him. And when I ask about our relationship he says that I don't seem like the same person from before the war. Do I just need to quest with him more? When it says "x loves that" do I actually need to have the character as my active companion for it to take effect?

Any information would be great.

I haven't even been using him at all. He says that I have changed and not for the better. This definitely seems like a bug. He's been loving all the mods I've made but he hasn't been talking to me at all.

Codsworth likes everything nice. Literally everything. He does not react when you pickpocket or hack terminals, hates stealing/pickpocketing/murdering/Asking for more caps.

As for making mods: Max affinity ranking is at 1000, I think. I believe everyone starts at 500. If making mods only adds 5, 10, or whatever (I don't know the values), perhaps you need to make a lot more.

Not sure why but I kept getting "Codsworth disliked that" when picking locks. It was in a subway so nothing was owned. I refuse to travel with anyone who doesn't like more loot so I parked him back at Sanctuary. According to wiki he shouldn't care? Confused.

Codsworth is nice for a goody, too bad you can't get a Mr. Gutsy type robot who loves a good fight and killing commies.

Anything considered rude, or impolite he isn't a fan of you doing.

He doesn't mind you killing raiders though, because they are rather uncivilized, and quite more rude then you are.
