Settler Limit and Stores

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 12:26 am

Hi all,

I'm 5 levels away from being able to build stores and have only just found out about the charisma attached settler limit.

I'm planning resources for Sanctuary and wondered if the NPCs that come with stores contribute to the settler limit and need beds etc? My thinking is yes but wanted to check before I divert resource away.

Thanks in advance!

Stores don't come with NPCs, you have to assign them. All the store does is place a stall down that you assign a settler to.

The only exception is when you find a merchant that you can recruit for your settlements.

Cheers buddy. Thought I read somewhere they come with an NPC, makes sense that they don't since every other doodad needs someone assigned 馃憤

You can game the system a little bit. If you wear charisma gear -- like Reginald's Outfit, a Militia Hat and a pair of back rimmed glasses which gives a +5 to charisma total-- you can go above the cap of your base charisma. You can put the charisma boosting gear on and send settlers from other places manually. I've got a 6 Charisma normally, but I managed to get 20 settlers in Sanctuary using this method. I've got enough people for food, guard duty and all the stores (plus one extra in my recreational house). I may remove the guy from guard duty and throw him on my scavenger bench now that I've got a butt load of turrets. I don't think that 2 defense will make much difference.
