Animal Friend vs Wasteland Whisperer

So, looking at the Charisma perks, I noticed...just what IS the difference between Animal Friend and Wasteland Whisperer? They seem to have the same effect, and are worded vaguely enough that they both seem to effect the same things. Or is it that an animal is anything 'normal' like feral dogs, brahmin, etc, and Wasteland Creatures are the mutated freaks, like deathclaws, radscorpions, radroaches (why you'd wanna pacify one of those though...is a good question), and Yao-Guai?

I would imagine that Dogs, Mole Rats and Yao Guai are considered Animals and Mirelurks, Deathclaws and Feral Ghouls are "creatures".

No idea where or how insects fit in to these though.

Bloatflies seem to be actually mutated as opposed to irradiated, Radscorpions just seem to be irradiated but principally the same as a regular Scorpion. Bloodbugs just seem irradiated, Stingwings seem mutated, Mutant Hounds seem mutated and Super Mutants are self-aware so, it's hard to say tbh.

But yeah, in principle, if it's the same as an animal before the Great War (but simply irradiated and huge or aggressive) then it's classified as an animal. If it has mutated somewhat and gained new abilities as a result of being irradiated, then it's classified as a creature or "abomination".

Obviously, there's some grey areas that can only be resolved through testing though, and I'm not really going for Charisma.
