Balistic weave unavailable

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 10:32 am

Ok, so for anyone like me who already killed off the railroad, and prefers not to start a different character. Chances are you will never be able to get the balistic weave perk. This perk allows you to basically upgrade clothing items like military fatigues, the railroad jacket, and some hats. The problem with this perk only being available through the railroad is that people like me, who at that time was completley unaware of the epic perk awarded for completing their quests, will not get the perk. The point I am getting at is that this perk seems to be a crucial aspect of the armor upgrading system in the game. Not having it makes me feel as if im missing out on a huge aspect of armor customization. I would like to ask bethesda to fix this or at least make it available in some other way. I understand if its a perk that needs to be worked for, and im ok with that. All im asking for is that it be made available for those who already killed off the members of the railroad

This is a spoiler, so it may end up getting moved.

That said, while nice, it isn't as great as you'd think. A lot of good clothing items can't be modified and the only hat I've found that it works with is a trilby.

Personally, I have to disagree with this statement. While the choices on what you can upgrade certainly do need to be expanded (preferably to everything), the items that can be upgraded get a whopping 110 Ballistic Resistance and 110 Energy Resistance. This is better than wearing a full set of unupgraded Heavy Combat Armor. The real treat, though, is with under-armor. Something like the Minuteman Outfit jumps up to 110 Ballistic and Energy Resistance, then you put a full set of upgraded Heavy Combat Armor on top of it for an extremely durable character.

Like I said, I do think that the selection of what can be upgraded needs to be expanded, but the system is far from useless.

Never implied it was useless. :) Just too limited.

Though, in the end, I prefer to wear what suits my character concept. It would just be nice if wearing it didn't get me killed. XD I'm a bit bitter about not being able to upgrade the Minutemen General Uniform or the Colonial Duster.

I'll definitely agree with that.

"personal log":

Don't kill railroad members.

Ty for the heads-up and agree that a crafting perk like balistic weaving should be acquirable threw other means.

Ballistic weave should be baseline and usable on more peices. The disparity of regular armor and power armor is ludicrous.
