How do I level up quick?

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 11:44 pm

God I want to get supply lines going but I have to get to level 2 Local Leader... I spent six [censored] hours to get to this perk and I still can't build shops until I upvrade to Level 2 Local Leader? This game got really [censored] boring and I want to level up quick to make it feel fresh again and I don't want to play the main quest. How the [censored] do you level up quick its not even like I can get XP from blocking endlessly like in Skyrim.

The level up system in F4 svcks.

Radiant quests are probably the most time efficient. The BoS at the police station always offers a quest to clear an area and another to get a piece of technology from a container. Very easily accessible and straightforward quests. There's also the Minutemen radiant quests, but they involve a lot of fast traveling. They start at Preston who sends you to a settlement, the settlers send you to a location, you do the objective at another location, return to the settlement and then return to Preston, who completes the quest (and automatically gives you another).

The Railroad also has some "random" quests but I've heard that they eventually run out. The BoS has additional random quests on the Prydwen, but those require varying degrees of (main) quest progress.

- do radiant quests for the Minutemen and the BoS. May as well do Railroad's, but theirs have a limit. Quests give XP, and you might get even more by killing enemies in them

- craft stuff

- explore and kill. Enemies in dungeons respawn fairly quickly so re-clean the ones you remember to be tougher

Huh... I'm trying to take my time with the main quest, and I barely do any crafting, and I still feel like I'm levelling at rocket-powered speed...

The settlements were [censored] impressive and it was great building them up but you should be allowed to make shops without having to spend all XP on Charisma that's totally [censored]. I play on Survival for a reason now I'm underpowered and I have to use my money for ammo all the time.

Get a in-game girl or whatever youre into. Piper is best for this because her perk is an xp boost. Start 5-6 quests simultaneously and persuade the lazy quest givers to give you more caps. Do the quest by walking there with Piper. Before you turn in the quests bang Piper and then eat squirrel soup. Then turn in the quests. All that should get you two level ups.

Just because you can't have it all in 5 minutes does not mean the level up system svcks, honestly B) .

Fallout 4 has always been advertised as a game with extensive content.

Heh i wud say lvling is super fast so def not a problem to lvl just explore/clear stuff or do radiant quests(Minuteman-Preston gives em,BOS-Cambridge police station Knight and Scribe give em, and none of those require any real progres in main story)

Walking around the streets of Boston should run you into plenty of roadblocks and strongpoints that you can shoot up for XP.

I agree the game has weighted CHR way too much. If you are going to support the MM a high CHR is a must.

I was also in the same boat where I didn't want to go too far into the MQ but felt like my leveling was crawling. Getting 6 EXP for killing a raider takes forever to level. I started doing the quests at the Police station and that got me over the hump. Once I finally decided to tackle the MQ my leveling went really fast.

There is a very good way to get some levels fast but it is almost cheating - at least it feals that way

Take the "idiot savant" perk in Luck ( you need 5 luck for that ) and quicksave just before you turn in a quest

then drink vodka, whisky or whatever lowers your intelligence ( to maximize your chance of getting the proc even with a few points invested in intelligence )

reload the quicksave until savant procs on quest completion - that way you get 3x or 5x the quest experience - which is sometimes 2-3 levels
