Plants won't repair

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 8:10 am

I've had a couple of attacks at Abernathy Farm, despite having more than enough defense, and about half of the Tato plants there are broken and need repaired. The problem is that when I activate them to repair them, nothing happens. The Tato is consumed from my inventory, but the plant isn't repaired, and if I mouse over the item, it still says "Repair with". Abernathy Farm is my main source of Tatos for Veggie Starch, so the fact that these won't repair is cutting into my ability to make Adhesive, so I really need these to be fixed. Does anyone know what I need to do?

have you tried fast traveling away and then coming back? If not quitting out completely and then trying again as well.

Plants have a bunch of bugs for other stuff people say store it in inventory and then put it back out.

This is a known bug, the crops at Abernathy farm are known to randomly break and become unusable/unable to be repaired.

Currently, about half the tatos at Abernathy farm have become static props I cant even assign settlers to, or even move/delete.

No, you can repair plants by "replanting" them by spending the appropriate food resource to repair them.

Shouldn't they of called it regrowing or regeneration instead of repair?

Speaking of food - I think I'm missing the idea here. What are people doing with the random stuff in the world they are picking up like sugar bombs etc. Also, what are people doing with the food they harvest?

its a default interface used for repairing every item.

Everyone gets "repairing" in this context, and it would be silly to change the repair name over for just one item.

eating it obviously.

Thanks - that's so helpful - I hear people are selling for a profit ? Is this true and if so - how?

I'm personally using the stuff I get for Veggie Starch. Any other crops just sit in their respective Workshop, because I'm not crafting anything that uses them. And I can't be bothered to go around collecting the extra to sell it.

In every game ive played, abernathy farms always has one side of the tato plants bug out where nothing grows, cant move them, and if they are damaged in raid attacks, as OP describes, the repair option is given but all it does is consume one tato per click but never repairs. You can click and use up hundreds of tatos, the repair is broken because the plant is broken.

The side in my games is always the left side - from pov if looking at entrance of default farmhouse where workbench is.

Only way i have fixed that plot of land is by using console to disable / markfordelete all tatos on that bugged side, and then replant tatos using a mod allowing use of greygarden style trays. If replanted as normal plants into the dirt, that side bugs out again. So removing and replanting has never worked for me. Its almost as if the ground itself is poisoned or bugged.

But i can put down bunch of greygarden plant trays amd its fine.
